After 4 weeks of being so sick I thought I might die, I think I am back. It was horrible- several doctors visits, a trip to the ER in the middle of the night, all kinds of fun times. Side note, if any of you are sick anytime in the near future, I highly recommend The Little Clinic in Kroger at Dexter & G'Town Rd.
Before we get to the questions, let me just go over the excitement of our day. Charlotte had to go get her immunizations before we could register her for school. The last time she had shots, she was too little to remember and so although we tried to prepare her, she pretty much freaked the {insert word of your choice here} out. I was holding down her arms and trying to help cover her eyes so she wouldn't look and she managed to overpower me and knock the syringe out of herself at one point. I know everyone will say this is just payback for the time when I was 8 and had to get a penicillin shot and hid behind the table and it took 4 people to hold me down. It was so sad. She was so upset. She did score a pink Popsicle and calmed down shortly after that. But it was ugly. I'm pretty sure there were people all over Collierville who heard her screams. As I type though, she is taking a nice warm bubble bath and making her daddy explain all the answers of the universe to her so I think she will be fine.
And here is this, just because there are so many words here and he is SO dang cute:
Now, I suppose I will answer those questions. Let's see what we have.
1. Do you think cursive writing is overrated? (Schools in Indiana have now voted to take teaching cursive writing out of their curriculum.)
I write using some sort of odd combination of cursive and print. I think cursive writing has it's benefits. Because if kids don't learn it at all, aren't signatures gonna start to look really weird at some point?
2. Do you still use a pocket calendar or notepad or do you keep your info on your smart phone?
I keep all my appointments and scheduled events in my smartphone. BUT, I still keep a paper day planner and meal plan list. And my grocery list is always on paper. I like paper.
3. What 3 things would you save if your house was burning down? (family & pets are already safe)
photos/keepsakes, obviously.. I even have all the letters Matt and I wrote to each other when we were first dating and I was a senior in high school and he was SO FAR AWAY at Union.
Other than that, I would like to have my camera and my purse. I'm disgustingly practical. I know.
(for the record, I wouldn't even THINK about saving my wedding dress. For the two people who get that joke! )
4. Country Mouse or City Mouse, err Person?
Can I pick suburbs? If forced to choose, 100% country. Today I drove to Target and forgot my purse and had to come home and get it. Times like that I adore being 4 minutes away from Target. But most of the time I would love to have a house where I couldn't see a single neighbor anywhere. And I would have a goat. And some chickens.
5. If you could pick ANY reality show to go on, which would you pick?
hmmm. I like a LOT of reality shows. But I am a pretty, um, unusual person. So I can't really fathom facing discomfort of any kind. Survivor would be a problem because the lack of dental hygiene and the heat. Big Brother is out because I hate other people. Amazing Race is out because I'm terrified of heights. Project Runway would be amazing to go and be a part of of, but I just can't think up weird enough crap to be successful on that show. ( I would rather just walk around Mood with Tim Gunn and not really do the competition part). I can't sing or dance or model. I think I pick... Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Only without any of the sad stories that go with getting on that show. I just want them to pick me because I'm so awesome.
